Privacy policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
In short
- Rupnar IPTV does not collect, sell or share personal data. It has no ads, no analytics and no user sign-up.
- Your login details and preferences are stored only on your device.
- The app only connects to the IPTV service you specify and, to update itself, to GitHub (Windows) or Google Play (Android).
This policy applies to the Rupnar IPTV app on all its platforms (Windows, Android and, once available, Samsung TV and Android TV) and to this website, rupnardev.github.io.
1. Who is responsible
Rupnar IPTV is an independent project developed by rupnardev. You can get in touch through the contact section.
2. What the app is
Rupnar IPTV is only a player. It includes no content: to use it, you enter the login details of a third-party IPTV service (Xtream server or M3U playlist). We have no relationship with that service and no access to your account.
3. Data stored on your device
To work, the app stores the following information only on your device. It is never sent to us or to third parties:
- Accounts: account name, server or playlist address, username and password. On Windows they are stored encrypted using the operating system's own data protection; on Android, encrypted with a key from the system secure store (Android Keystore), which never leaves the device and is not included in backups; on other platforms, using the secure storage each system provides.
- App usage: favourites, playback progress, "Continue watching" and hidden categories, kept separately for each account.
- Preferences: language, volume, playback speed and preferred audio and subtitle language.
You can delete an account at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data from the system removes everything else.
4. What the app connects to
| Destination | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| The IPTV service you specify | Loading channels, programme guide, movies, series and images, and playing them. | Your username and password for that service (this is how the protocol works), your IP address and what you play. That provider handles it under its own policy. |
| GitHub (Windows only) | Checking for a new version and downloading it. | Your IP address and technical request data, under the GitHub Privacy Statement. |
| The platform's store (TV and Android versions) | Installation and updates. | Whatever the store itself handles (Samsung, Google) under its own policies. |
Important: many IPTV services use unencrypted HTTP connections. In that case, your login details travel unencrypted between your device and that server. This depends on the provider, not on the app.
5. What the app does not do
- It has no user accounts of its own and no servers of its own that receive your data.
- It contains no advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party tools that collect data.
- It does not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone or camera. On Android it only requests internet access; if you choose an M3U playlist stored on your phone, it opens only that file, through the system file picker.
- It does not sell or share information with anyone.
6. This website
- It is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log your IP address and technical visit data for security purposes, under its privacy statement.
- It uses no cookies, analytics or advertising. It only stores the language you choose (Spanish or English) in your browser.
- To show the current version, your browser queries GitHub's public API.
- Donations are made on Buy Me a Coffee, an external service with its own privacy policy. We do not receive your payment details.
7. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not collect data from anyone, including children.
8. Your rights
Because we do not hold any of your personal data, we have no information to access, correct or delete. All information is on your device and under your control. If you have any questions about your rights (for example, under the GDPR), get in touch.
9. Changes to this policy
If the app changes how it handles data (for example, on a new platform), we will update this page and the date above before releasing that version.
